The Department of Diplomacy & International Studies today (20th feb 2024) hosted an international conference on The Role of Women In Diplomacy'. The conference explored the impact of women-led efforts in enabling the realization of the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
The University of Nairobi, Department of Diplomacy and International Studies is proud of its dedication to promoting student participation in both classroom and real-world awareness of world affairs. Our department's staff, Dr. Shazia Chaundry and three postgraduate students namely; Japheth Musau Kasimbu, Leanne Nyawira Kamau and Rabecca Kavithe Ndeto recently participated in the Horn of Africa Expo on Pastoralists, which took place in Ethiopia.
The Department of Diplomacy and International Studies (DDIS) hosted Major General Jami C. Shawley, the Commanding General of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) today. Major Shawley was accompanied by Major General Fatuma Ahmed (KDF), and they discussed the current status of the US-Kenya Security Partnership at the University of Nairobi. The discussion took place through the African Center for the Study of the US based at DDIS.
