IDIS JOURNAL Special Issue “Women in Diplomacy in the 21st Century” CALL FOR PAPERS | WHAT IS IDIS-J? The IDIS Journal (IDIS-J) is a peer reviewed interdisciplinary journal based in the Department of Diplomacy and International Studies, University of Nairobi, Kenya. The IDIS – Journal of International Studies and Diplomacy has published two past issues (Vol 1, in 2018, Vol 2 in 2023) and is embarking on the 3rd issue of 2024/2025.
SUB –THEMES
CALL FOR PAPERS The IDIS-J is pleased to announce a special call for papers for its third issue on the theme: “Women in Diplomacy in the 21st Century” This special issue of the journal is important as it examines the evolving role and influence of women and the gender factor in theory and practice of diplomatic engagements. This call for papers encourages contributions on issues of diversity and gender equality, and seeks to enhance international relations discourse, by incorporating an array of experiences and perspectives from contemporary diplomatic theory and practice. In this regard, the special issue provides a platform for recognizing the unique contributions and accomplishments of women in diplomacy and promoting a more inclusive and effective global governance. Courtesy visit by External Unit Chief, U.S Embassy Nairobi | On 14th December 2022, the chair, Department of Diplomacy and International Studies Dr. Patrick Maluki held a meeting, in his office, with Mr. Francesco C. Barbacci, the External Unit Chief, Political Section, U.S Embassy, Nairobi, who paid a courtesy visit. Possibility of working on subnational diplomacy project being promoted by the US embassy was the main subject of discussion. More is coming on the subject. |

COMMENCEMENTS AND RESUMPTION DATES FOR 2021/2022 ACADEMIC YEAR | The University of Nairobi wishes to inform the following groups of students (Module I and Module II) that the commencement and resumption dates of the 2021/2022 Academic Year are as follows:
