Mauritius hosted a significant diplomatic and academic milestone yesterday as the Secretary General of the Indian Ocean Association officially launched the Indian Ocean University Networks, at the Curtin University Campus.

The event brought together prominent dignitaries and scholars from the region, underscoring a shared commitment to enhancing collaboration in higher education and international relations. The network aims to foster academic cooperation among member states, with a special focus on addressing critical geopolitical and socio-economic issues in the Indian Ocean region.

Professor Maluki, the Chair of the Department of Diplomacy and International Studies at the University of Nairobi, was among the esteemed participants at the launch.

The Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies (IDIS) , University of Nairobi, will host the next course under the network. The move signifies a pivotal step in aligning academic pursuits with real-world diplomacy to address the unique challenges facing the Indian Ocean region
