Prof. Nzomo Addresses High Commissioners of the Commonwealth

The Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies made history by successfully launching IDIS Journal.

Friday, November 16, 2018 the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies (IDIS) launched its first Journal. There was pomp and glamour when the launch was marked with a key note presentation by the Director IDIS, Prof. Amb. Maria Nzomo. The guests were drawn from both the University and IDIS partners.  Prof. Nzomo took the guests through IDIS profile since its inception in 1973 where its core mandate was mainly teaching, research and consultancy. She informed the guest that IDIS became a full pledged Institute in 1990.

Prof. Enos Njeru, the Principal College of Humanities and Social Science (CHSS) who was representing the Vice Chancellor as the guest of honour read the speech on his behalf. He said that the University of Nairobi admit the best students in the country, he remaindered the guest that CHSS is the largest college in the University with over 40 thousand students and 75% of the lecturers are PhD holders and the college  has over 100 professors.

The event which was held at Education building 13 was attended by various eminent personalities, respective directors from different department at the University, various representatives of IDIS partners, academic staff, administrative staff and students.
