This study explores the potentials and risks associated with oil discovery, development and exportation in Kenya and how it will impact the East African Community integration. It also looks at how oil will be a catalyst to deepening and widening the East African integration and international level. This paper assesses whether these oil is or will be a curse or a blessing to the world in the long run in terms of environmental, economic development and finally its conflict implication. This chapter provides the background to the topic of study by first setting the broad context of the research study, the statement of the problem, theoretical framework literature reviews and many more.
